Why doesn't Romania host major art exhibitions? A lack of insurance accounts for a large part of the answer. What is the solution?

In the absence of an art insurance market, museums and exhibition organizers in Romania face three options: turning to foreign insurers at high cost, organizing exhibitions featuring lower-value works, or foregoing large-scale exhibitions altogether, says Cătălin Guriță, a lawyer and director of the WIN for ART Foundation. The identified solutions include creating an art guarantee fund or establishing partnerships between local and foreign insurers, which would reduce costs.

The invisible infrastructure of the art market

Art becomes relevant when there is an ecosystem that supports the creative process, not just the result.

There is a constant tendency to evaluate art by the result. By the final object. By what can be exhibited, sold or validated in a certain context. In reality, the value of art does not begin there. It begins much earlier, in a space that is not visible to the public. In the process. In time. In trial. In uncertainty. The problem is that this is precisely the area that is, most of the time, the least supported.

With a dramatic sound and rare sensibility, Leyah is one of the distinctive voices of the new wave of modern Romanian music. Her name is synonymous with "cinematic pop," a genre that the artist brought to our country. Here, music, emotion, and visual aesthetics intertwine on a deep and personal level. Leyah transforms each song into an intense story, exploring themes such as vulnerability, inner strength, and the search for identity, in a sound universe that transcends the boundaries of conventi
